Fix “\\computer is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource”.
We have an office where our collective files are hosted on a Windows 7 machine shared drive. Up until yesterday, we have had no issue connecting to and using this drive from our other machines all running Windows 10, and one Windows 8. Upon connecting to the drive now, we get this error:.
The truly disturbing part of this is that Microsoft put out a new patch two days later, on Jan 11 I think it was, that fixes this.
Yet they did not take steps to pull the faulty update from Windows Update. I ran updates on our Server R2 machines over the weekend and the problem happens. Then upon removing KB, problem gone. I did not put in the new KB I will wait for Microsoft to make it available via the monthly rollup, in case they have further problems to work out first. Unreal that they made the decision to let this faulty patch continue to be available for a full month after the problem was identified and fixed with an obscure hard-to-find patch.
